Reason for block:

Hello ht7,

You are receiving this message because it has come to our attention that you have been making unauthorized edits to beach locations in OpenStreetMap for purposes related to Pokémon GO. This type of activity is considered vandalism because it distorts the map data for purposes that do not reflect real-world geography and is specifically designed to manipulate gameplay in external applications.

As a result, your account has been temporarily blocked to prevent further damage to the map. To have this block reviewed and potentially lifted, you are required to:

  1. Cease all mapping activities that are intended to benefit gameplay in Pokémon GO or any other non-geographic purpose.
  2. Respond to this message by explaining your recent edits and committing to adhere to OpenStreetMap’s purpose of providing accurate and factual geographical data only.

Please be aware that such actions can also lead to further sanctions by Niantic, the company behind Pokémon GO, against players who manipulate map data for game advantage.

To discuss this matter or to have your block reviewed, please email us at data@osmfoundation.org with the subject line “Ticket#2024051310000313 - Account Review Request”.

Failure to comply with these conditions will result in a longer or permanent block being applied to your account. OpenStreetMap relies on the honesty and integrity of its contributors to maintain a reliable and useful map for everyone.

Please take this opportunity to review our community guidelines and reflect on how you can contribute positively to the project in the future.
