Mapbox gets the visible attribution.
OSM gets attribution ONLY if you click the tiny “i” button.

If both Mapbox AND OSM copyright were hidden behind the “i” button I wouldn’t care, but it’s sad that they show their name only…

I honestly didn’t even notice the attribution when I had this full screen on a 3x as wide monitor, just seemed like another restaurant dot on the map.

I also think this style of attribution goes too far. I’m fine with clicking for attribution, but giving special treatment to your own logo in that manner is just not ok.
However, It’s great news that DuckDuckGo uses OSM!

Great news to have Duckduckgo switching2osm !
Will be even better with proper (read visible) attribution… those icons are a fallback when there is not enough space for attribution (mobile screens for example) otherwise the requirement is clear on http://osm.org/copyright

Just for the record, Mapbox changed the way it shows attribution giving now proper credit to OSM: http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/lxbarth/diary/21847
